Meeting management
Agendas and resources Access timed meeting agendas right in the call, with resources and speaker assignments. You must use a separate tool or a third-party Zoom marketplace app for meeting agendas.
Collaborative notes Take collaborative notes right in your meeting, where you can see participants and work together to capture ideas. Easily export your work when you’re done. You can screenshare a document on Zoom, but editing still requires sharing a link, setting permissions, and flipping between tools.
Multiple screenshares Multiple participants can share their screen at once, making it easier to collaborate. One screenshare is allowed at a time, and the last screenshare overrides the previous.
Syncing with Google Calendar Meetings can be created and managed from wherever you schedule them and edits stay in sync. Meetings created on Zoom appear on your calendar but edits from your calendar don’t reflect back to Zoom.
Custom meeting names Create memorable meeting rooms for recurring meetings, projects, or clients. Custom domains are a paid feature and you still need to deal with meetings IDs.
Meeting controls Hosts and participants can democratically manage meetings and let participants in. Only the host can manage participants and let others in, so you’re stuck waiting for them.
Cloud-based recording Cloud-based recordings that you can access, download, and share with others. Recordings saved to your local device are free, but cloud recordings are a paid feature.
Build connections
Game Keep early attendees engaged and foster friendly competition before meetings start. Early attendees in Zoom meetings are stuck waiting around and can’t interact with others.
Teammate details Get to know your meeting participants better and understand their contributions in context of their background or expertise. Zoom meetings don’t display any information about meeting participants except their name or profile picture.
Emoji reactions Use a wide range of reactions with auditory notifications to express how you really feel. Reactions are limited to only a clapping emoji and thumbs up emoji.
Statuses Designed to fit naturally into meetings with visual cues and auditory notifications. Statuses are hidden in the participants sidebar so they are very easy to miss.
Web-based meetings No device-specific app downloads, anyone can host or join meetings from the browser. You need to download the Zoom app for each device you want to join meetings from.
No sign-up requirements Anyone can start a free, public meeting on and share the link to invite guests. Hosts are required to sign-up, which makes meetings a more time-consuming process.
